Blooming is a hand‑painted, freestyle‑quilted artwork by Cindy Watkins. Inspired by New Zealand’s native flora and birds, the piece features kōwhai, harakeke (flax), pōhutukawa, mānuka, silver fern and karaka, accompanied by kiwi and tūī. The composition was drawn, painted and then stitched, combining painterly mark‑making with expressive quilting to celebrate the vitality of Aotearoa’s natural world.
